Commonly Used Essential Oils

Essential oils are volatile oils that have been extracted from a particular plant material. PEO (Pure Essential Oils) should not be applied in its (neat) form. In other words, they should not be applied directly to the skin without first cutting them with some type of carrier oil, such as massage oil, or lotion, thus, diluting the PEO in some manner.

  • Basil - memory loss, culinary uses, clarifying
  • Clary Sage – PMS symptoms, euphoric
  • Eucalyptus – purifying, invigorating, cooling, main ingredient in Vicks vapor rub
  • Geranium – massage, aged skin, calming
  • Lavender - burns, relaxation, insect bites, and migraines.
  • Lemon – antibacterial, oily skin, uplifting
  • Orange – nervousness, refreshing
  • Patchouli – dry aged skin, aphrodisiac, romantic, exotic
  • Peppermint – great for headaches, fever, colds
  • Rosemary – arthritis, clarifying, warming, invigorating
  • Tea Tree – Acne, Cold Sores, anti fungal
  • Ylang Ylang – very calming, sensual, euphoric
